  1. Jazmin- ABC group Created By Jazmin Ortiz-Anguiano on Sunday, August 29, 2010 10:37:17 PM CDT Group definition: A conflict between opposing forces usually carried out by physical force. Pacquiao vs. Cotto Boxing Match According to Bragging Right Corner. com , " The mere words have connotations that go back as far as the birth of mankind. Our history has proven that men have gone to war for just about anything. Wars have been fought for reasons as banal as the thought of being disrespected and of course there is, and always have been, wars fought in the name of God. But major conflicts have arisen when countries battle each other over nationalistic pride and on this coming Saturday, November 14th, we will see two Gladiators enter the arena to fight for the pride of their respective countries." 3 Facts:how they relate to the group definition 1). "but nothing gets the blood of Boricuas going like a good fight" - the physical force they use 2). Miguel Cotto is from Puerto Rico and he is going to fight Manny Pacquiao who is from the Phillapines - they are from oppsing ends they are form different countries. 3). "The two island nations, a Warrior from each will fight in representation of his land." - these two men have a conflict going on they are from different countries and they each want the same thing..."pride".also how it was mentioned in the second paragraph these men and their countries are fighting for "nationalistic pride". these countries don't have an on going war they just fight for pride and to see which of the two countries is better by watching two men from each country battle it out by using physical force.

I believe that the Civil War fits into our group definition of war. According to americanhistory.about.com the conflict at hand was the southern reliance on slaves for cotton picking which was their main source of economy and the growing anti slave attitude of the north who bought raw cotton from the south. The tensions grew between the opposing states and upon the secession of seven southern states, war broke out. The war led to over 600,000 casualties.
